Barbara A. Brady Orr, age 63, resident of Cicero, formerly of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. She resided in Pulaski for 32 years before moving to Cicero in 2008.
Barbara was born March 2, 1949, in Watertown, the daughter of Walter and Grace Gorey Brady. She graduated from Watertown High School in 1967 and SUNY Potsdam in 1971.
Barbara married David H. Orr on February 12, 1977, who passed away December 24, 2009. Barbara taught 5th grade at Sandy Creek Elementary School for 35 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of Christ Our Light Catholic Parish in Pulaski, and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero.
Barbara was an active volunteer at Upstate University Hospital in both Volunteer Services and Palliative Care, since 2009.
Surviving: one daughter, Sarah E. Orr of Cicero; one son, Andrew B. Orr of Syracuse; one stepson, David Orr of Lillington, NC; and two brothers, Michael Brady of Liverpool and Steven Brady of Chittenango.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Our Light Parish, 23 Niagara Street, Pulaski, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Watertown.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski.
Donations may be made to the Barbara Orr Memorial Fund in care of the Foundation for Upstate Medical University, 750 E. Adams St., Syracuse, NY.
