      Richard P. Davis died peacefully on November 6, 2007, at Osprey Village on Amelia Island, Florida. He was born February 6, 1925, in Pulaski, New York, and graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School and then from the United States Naval Academy in 1946 (Class of 1947). Following three years of service as a Navy officer, he moved to Syracuse, New York, and later to Cazenovia, New York. He joined the A.H. Pond Company in 1949 and later served as president of the company for several years before he retired and moved to Florida in 1982. While he was in the Syracuse area, he was a member of the Onondaga Golf and Country Club, University Club, Century Club and Cazenovia Club, and he was on the board of KeyBank in Syracuse.

      Mr. Davis is survived by his brother, John A. Davis of Beacon, New York; four sons; six grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

      He was predeceased earlier this year by his wife, Harriet Pond Davis, and by his brother. Capt. George H. Davis, USN.

      A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

      The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Inc., 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257, whose personnel provided wonderful care to our father.
