Fred W. Kinney, 90, of 2797 Sharon St., Weedsport, N. Y., died Sunday, October 18, 2009, at M. M.
Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 25, at 2 p.m. at The Weedsport First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Debra Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Old Brutus Historical Society, 8943 N. Seneca St., P. O. Box 516, Weedsport, NY 13166; or The Weedsport First Presbyterian Church, 8871 S. Seneca St., P. O. Box 506, Weedsport, NY 13166.
Fred was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and was the son of Karl D. and Bessie Grinnells Kinney. He grew up the Pulaski, N. Y., area and graduated from Pulaski Academy.
Upon returning from military duty with the U. Army during World War he opened Kinney Funeral Home, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1981.
Fred also belonged many civic organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nellie A. Goodsell Kinney; one son, David A. Kinney of Weedsport; and one daughter, Deborah J. (Roy A.) Kinney Weymouth of Canandaigua; well as five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brother, Karl D. Kinney.
