- Elbert D. Hirsh, 68, of Taylor Road died Tuesday at Auburn Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months.
Born in Fulton, Mr. Hirsh lived most of his life in the Cato-Savannah area. He retired as an employee of Borden Foods Co. in Lyons. He had been a heavy equipment operator in the construction business. Mr. Hirsch was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are three sons, Jack of Fair Haven, Douglas of Savannah and Donald of Auburn; four daughters, Janet Murray of Oswego, Hope Grennell of Cato, and Brenda Worden and Linda Hirsh, both of Spokane, Wash.; a brother; 20 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Jewell Funeral Home, Weedsport. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Hannibal.
