- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, July 20, 1993 Watertown Daily Times (NY) - Edward A. Bielewicz, 70, Of Richland Dies - Edward A. Bielewicz, 70, Canning Factory Road, died Monday in the House of the Good Samaritan. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, 7643 Jefferson St., Pulaski, and 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Pulaski, with the Rev. Anthony Keeffe officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited on Wednesday. Surviving are three sons, Donald, Brewerton, John, Killeen, Texas, and Michael, Pulaski; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Susan) Mowers, Richland, and Lori Alfano, Pulaski; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. Born in Rome, Dec. 5, 1922, a son of Walter and Catherine Florczyk Bielewicz, he attended local schools. He married Mary E. Tilkins Jan. 27, 1951, in Rome. She died Aug. 29, 1987. Mr. Bielewicz served with the Army during World War II and received a purple heart. He was employed with Rome Cable Co. and later with Carrier Corp., Syracuse, until his retirement in 1983, after 26 years. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and a member of American Legion Post 358, Pulaski.
