      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, March 24, 1960 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Saturday for C. J. Riley, 87 - Charles J. Riley, 87, of Richland, died Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Archie (Ruby) Horton in Blackstone, Virginia, where he was spending the winter. He had been ill only two weeks. Surviving besides his daughter in Virginia are five other daughters, Mrs. Harold Pennock of Mt. Pleasant Mrs. William (Rena) Cobb of Lacona, Mrs. Raymond (Dorothy) Nutting of Syracuse, Mrs. William (Naomi) DeShane and Mrs. Harold (Helen) Wing of Richland; one son, Elmer Riley of Richland; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mr. Riley was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia, January 8, 1873, and was the son, of John A. and Mary Deaver Riley. He was married June 1, 1898 to Jessie L. Tolley, who died October 20, 1940. His second wife, Alice G. Tolley, died in 1946. He moved to Richland in 1918 and has resided there since except in recent years he spent the winter months in Florida and Virginia. He worked at the carpenter trade until his retirement. Funeral services will be held at the Foster Funeral Home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Murphy, of the Richland Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Richland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.
