- Newspaper Obituary - June 9, 1989 Post Standard - Services for Patricia A. Gibbs, 50, of 532 Franklin St. and formerly of Boyleston, who died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 8192 Harwood Drive. A native of Richland, Mrs. Gibbs lived 31 years in Boyleston before moving to Watertown in 1985. Surviving are her husband, Wallace H.; eight daughters, Audrey Maroughan of North Syracuse, Patricia Bourcy of Clayton, Joan Gibbs of Buffalo, Theresa Pike of Adams Center, Ethel Ralston of Sandy Creek and Evelyn, Beth Ann and Lelia Gibbs, all at home; six sons, Alton of Sandy Creek, Rex of Buffalo, Wallace, Robert and Carl, all of Watertown, and Wayne of Redfield; two brothers, Robert of Pulaski and John Maitland of Orwell; three sisters, Betty Fischer of Syracuse, Beverly Sanderson of Pulaski and Marilyn Sanderson of Chaumont; 21 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Gibbs, 50, of 532 Franklin St., formerly of Boylston, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Janet Gibbs, pastor of the Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek. Mrs. Gibbs was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday in the emergency room of Mercy Hospital, where she had been taken after suffering a heart attack at her home. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Surviving are her husband, Wallace H.; eight daughters, Mrs. John (Audrey) Moroughan, North Syracuse, Mrs. Rick (Patricia) Bourcy, Clayton, Joan Gibbs, Buffalo, Teresa Pike, Adams Center, Mrs. Lynn (Ethel) Ralston, Sandy Creek, and Evelyn Gibbs, Beth Ann Gibbs and Lelia Gibbs, all at home; six sons, Alton, Sandy Creek, Rex, Buffalo, Wallace, Robert and Carl, all of Watertown, and Wayne, Redfield; 21 grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Maitland, Pulaski, and John Maitland, Orwell; three sisters, Mrs. John (Betty) Fischer, Syracuse, Mrs. John (Beverly) Sanderson, Pulaski, and Mrs. Frank (Marilyn) Sanderson, Chaumont Bay, and several nieces and nephews. Born in the Town of Richland on Aug. 5, 1938, a daughter of Rex and Ethel Maitland, she was educated in Richland schools and married Wallace H. Gibbs April 22, 1954. They were later divorced and remarried on Nov. 20, 1985. Mrs. Gibbs moved from Boylston to Watertown in 1985.
