      Kenneth H. Southwell, 82, of 136 Lake St., died Wednesday at Sunrise Nursing Home, Oswego.

      Mr. Southwell lived in Natural Bridge before moving to Pulaski in 1946. He was a carpenter with G&W Builders, DeWitt, for 25 years and an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and beekeeper.

      Born Nov. 30, 1915, at Lewisburg, a son of Joel and Nora Hill Southwell, he attended Lewisburg schools.

      A veteran of World War II, he served in the Army infantry in North Africa, Sicily, Normandy, Belgium and Germany. He received a Purple Heart with clusters, because he was wounded more than once.

      He married Iris Trumble in 1947.

      Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Kenneth H. and Randy L., both of Pulaski, and Joel H., Richland; two daughters, Vickie M. and Polly B., both of Pulaski; a brother, William, Richland; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a niece.

      Funeral and burial are private. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home.

      Services and burial are private.
