- Herman L. Swanson, 71, Chelan, died Saturday evening in Brewster hospital.
Mr. Swanson was born at Hammond, N.Y., on April 15, 1900, and came west to Chelan in 1901. He attended school in the Boyd district. In 1923 he moved to Canada where he made his home until the early 1950s, except for a short time when he returned to Chelan in 1942.
In the early 1950s he moved to Alaska and was employed in construction with the Morrison-Knudsen Co. in the Yukon Territory. From 1955 until his retirement in 1963 he was employed as a boiler operator at Point Barrow, Alaska, following his retirement he returned to Chelan, where he has lived since.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Elsie St. Luise, and a brother, Glenn, both of Chelan; a brother Elmer, of Enumclaw; an uncle, Frank B. Yerdon, of Chelan, and many nieces and nephews. His parents and two sisters died previously.
