    • Julia was raised in North Redfield on the Little John Road where her family had moved just prior to her birth. She attended schools in Greenborough, and the old St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church until it closed.
      Married to William Yerdon in 1898, the couple settled on County Rt. 17 just above Caster Rd. Will and his brother Andy owned a sizable tract of land there on both sides of the road. The children attended the nearby school that was known then as Yerdon District.
      Following Wills' death the old homestead burned. Julia moved her remaining possessions to daughter Maude's home in Lacona, and then went to work in Camden for a time caring for two children there. In the early 1940s she returned to Lacona where she boarded at a home and cared for an elderly lady.
      In her last years Julia lived on Park St. with daughter Maude. She was tragically struck and killed by a "beeline" express train car while walking across town. She is buried in Camden with her husband.
