      Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, June 7, 2011 The Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Laura M. Smith, 97, of Parish, passed away at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, New York, on Saturday, June 4. 2011. She was born in Daysville, December 24, 1913, daughter of the late Lena and Alanson (Ivens) Corey. She formerly worked for the railroad, Easy Washer, GE, Goodno's Grocery Store, Colosse Cheese, and A&E Bus Company, as a bus monitor. She was predeceased by her daughter, Betty Bond; two sons, Stanley Smith, Donald Smith; her siblings, sister, Dorothy; brothers, Harold, Norman, Raymond, John. Surviving: three daughters, Barbara (Allen) VanSanford, Parish, Ava (Thomas) Beecher, Volney, Ula Coe, Oswego; one son, James (Mary) Smith, Mexico; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday from Harter Funeral Home, 2983 West Main Street, Parish, New York. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, Town of Richland. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
