      Dorothy L. Giddings, 81, formerly of Redfield, died Friday at Sunrise Nursing Home, Oswego.

      Mrs. Giddings was a homemaker.

      Born June 26, 1926, at Redfield, daughter of Wallace and Harriet Joyner Lyons, she graduated in 1946 from Sandy Creek High School.

      She married Omer E. Giddings on Aug. 30, 1946, in Redfield. The couple lived in Redfield all of their married life. Mr. Giddings died Jan. 11, 1994.

      Mrs. Giddings lived in Orwell for three years before moving to the nursing home in 2000.

      Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Penny and Allan Miller, Orwell, LuAnn and George Burnham, Watertown, and Connie A. Town, Syracuse, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

      A daughter, Gay Lynn, died in a car accident July 1, 1965, at age 9.

      The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Orwell United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Greenboro Cemetery, North Redfield.

      Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the church.

      Arrangements are with Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.
