    • Death record lists no parents, his age is 89. Initial information from Eleanor Watson who in 1969 was in Maryland. Peter is in 1840 and 1850 census for Morristown, New York with all the other children of George & Elizabeth (Dygart) Yerdon. After 1850 he is in Redfield with the families of Abraham Jr., and John Yerdon. Peter may have been married before to a Janet Allen, perhaps she is Peter Jr.'s Mom.
      In the 1855 Census for Redfield Peter is listed on page #97 as a widower, and born in Montgomery County, NY. His children are Daniel 13, Elizabeth 12, Augustus 9, James 6, and George 3. They all list St. Lawrence County as their birthplace. The family lives 2 doors down from John & Elizabeth Yerdon who also just came to Redfield from St. Lawrence County. Jacob and his family are also nearby, These three Yerdon families the first, and only ones in Redfield at the time, here about 1854.
      In 1860 Peter is remarried, and he continues to be in Redfield until after 1880 census. He lists his age as 78 in 1880. Peter reports in 1865 that he was married 3 times
      Death date in question as there was Peter Yerdon of Morristown who died September 9, 1890 and was buried in Hammond, and the Peter who died in Redfield that we cite here. His death recorded in Martha Ackley's Diary, also Lester Yerdon's Diary (He attended Funeral)
