Omer E. Giddings, 72, Redfield, Route 17, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday in Oswego Hospital, where he had been a patient since Friday.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Lorraine Zimmerman, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in Greenboro Union Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Connie Miller, Adams, Penny Miller, Orwell, and LuAnn Burnham, Watertown; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Roena Armstrong, Syracuse.
A daughter, Gay Lynn Giddings, died in 1965. A brother, J.D. Giddings, died before him.
Born in Redfield on Oct. 16, 1921, a son of Edward and Nina Yerdon Giddings, he attended Redfield schools. He married Dorothy Lyons on Aug. 30, 1946, in Redfield.
Mr. Giddings was employed with the town of Redfield Highway Department and Blount Lumber Co. until his retirement in 1976, after 20 years.
