Newspaper Obituary - Thursday Evening, December 9, 1897 The Oswego Daily Palladium - Oswego, New York - On Monday afternoon, December 6th, occurred the death of Mrs. Emily Slater Russell, widow of the late William H. Russell. She had been in poor health for a long time, but had not been confined to her bed until recently. Mrs. Russell had always been a resident of the town of Richland and her death will be sincerely regretted by a large number of warm friends. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Fred H. Soule and Miss Lydia Russell, Daysville; two sisters, Mrs. David Dean, Scriba, and Mrs. Charles E. Russell, New Haven, and two brothers, Fred Slater, Boylston, and Louis Slater, Buena Vista, Colorado. Her funeral took place from the M. E. church this (Wednesday) afternoon, the Rev. Henry Idle conducting the services.
Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 22, 1897 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Daysville - It is with feelings of the deepest regret that we are called upon to record the passing away of one of our most loved and respected member of our community, Mrs. Emily Russell. The funeral was held at the church last Wednesday, Rev. Idle delivering the funeral address. Interment beside her husband and son in Willis Cemetery. In Mrs. Russell a fond mother, a kind and sympathizing friend and a thoroughly lovable woman has crossed the river of death. She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Fred Soule and Miss Lydia Russell, both of this place.
