      Robert R. McElver, 60, of East Main Street died Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.

      Mr. McElver was born in Syracuse and lived in Phoenix, Liverpool and Parish. He graduated in 1954 from Phoenix High School.

      He moved to Parish in 1965.

      Mr. McElver had worked for Conrail in DeWitt for 32 years and had been an engineer since 1971.

      He was a member of the Parish Christian Church and the Fulton Masonic Lodge. He was an avid bird-watcher.

      Surviving are his wife, Carroll B.; two sons, Robert C. of Gainesville and Steven of Clearfield, Utah; two daughters, Cynthia L. Barrie of Baldwinsville and Cathy M. Barry of Parish; and nine grandchildren.

      Services are 11 a.m. Friday in the Parish Christian Church, Pleasant Lawn Cemetery. Burial is in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery.

      Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St., Pulaski.
