Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, November 13, 1990 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Edwin Skotniski, Meat Cutter, Farmer, Dies - Edwin E. Skotniski Sr., 63, North Fernwood Road, longtime resident of the Pulaski area, died Sunday at Oswego Hospital. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Taylor-Vida Funeral Home, Pulaski, and 11 a.m. at Unity Acres Chapel, Orwell. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery with full military honors. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 7643 Jefferson St., where the Rosary will be recited at 8 Wednesday evening. Surviving are his wife, Viola; two sons, Edwin E. Jr. and Michael, both of Pulaski; five daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Theresa) Laux and Mrs. Larry (Julie) Quackenbush, both of Mexico, Mrs. Matthew (Marsha) Shannon, Long Island, Mrs. Todd (Catherine) Alexander, Illinois, and Karen, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph, Richland, and Henry, Rochester, and four sisters, Stella Bentley, Lacona, Julia Skotniski, Fernwood, Alice Koch, Pulaski, and Mildred Paronett, Florida. He was born October 11, 1927, in Fernwood, a son of Stanley and Margaret Kaziol Skotniski. He attended Fernwood and Pulaski schools and had resided in the Pulaski area his entire life. He married Viola Wallis October 11, 1958, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Pulaski. Mr. Skotniski served with an U.S. Army field hospital at the rank of private first class. He was a farmer and also worked as a meat cutter at the Pulaski Silver Star Market. Mr. Skotniski was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.
