- Margaret A. Packard
Margaret A. Packard, 87, of Spencer, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Hospice at The Inn at Medina. Born in Olmsted Falls, she had lived in Spencer since 1943. She was a member of Spencer United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Womens’ Group, and was a former youth leader. She had baby-sat an estimated 250 children in her home over the years for area families. A 4-H advisor for 30 years, she was a member of Spencer Senior Citizens, an officer with Chatham Grange, an officer and organizer with Black River Booster Club and PTO and a committee member and officer with the Farm Bureau and County Extension. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine McQuate of Penfield; a son, Allan of Spencer; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence Walkden of Spencer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, in 1965. Servies will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Spencer. The Rev. Cara Stultz Costello will officiate. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Spencer United Methodist Church, P.O.
