Betty J. Hauer

Betty J. Hauer, 79, resident of Altmar, passed away Thursday at Samaritan Keep Home. Betty moved to Orwell in 1989; she had previously lived in Rouses Point for 30 years. She also lived in Altmar and Central Square.
Betty was born January 5, 1931, in Altmar, the daughter of Perle and Mary Mattison Trumble. She graduated from Altmar High School in 1949.
Betty married Warren L. Hauer Sr. on April 15, 1950. She was employed by Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories in Rouses Point for 15 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a 40-year member and past matron of the OES Chapter #477 in West Chazy, NY. She was also a member of the Pine Meadows Wesleyan Church and the Central Square Gun Club.
Surviving: her husband, Warren L. Hauer Sr.; three sons, Warren Jr. of Orwell, William of Newfane, VT, and Kendall of Hamilton, OH; one daughter, Marilyn Hauer of Orwell; three brothers, Perle Trumble Jr. of Fulton, William Trumble of Mesa, AZ, and Karl Trumble of Hastings; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with a spring burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
