Carl R. Bice, 57, Altmar, died Monday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home.
Mr. Bice had been owner and operator of a scrap metal brokerage in Altmar for the past 30 years.
Born May 7, 1951, in Syracuse, son of Robert and Esther Richer Bice, he was a longtime resident of the Altmar and Pulaski area. He attended Pulaski schools and served in the Army from 1968 to 1970.
He married June Trumble on July 24, 1976.
Mr. Bice was an active member of the Oswego County Republican Party.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons and their wives, Carl Jr. and Angie, Williamstown, and Matthew and Nicole, Altmar; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jamie Lynn Bice, Altmar, and Amanda and Charles Graham, Pulaski, eight grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
Private services will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski.
