Newspaper Obituary - Monday, May 17, 1909 Oswego Daily Palladium - Oswego, New York - Pulaski - Nelson J. Sherman Dead - Pulaski, May 17th - Nelson J. Sherman, sixty years old, died yesterday of pneumonia. His widow and one daughter, Miss Floy B. Sherman, survive. The funeral will be held from the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 19, 1909 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Manwarren District - This neighborhood is wrapt in deepest gloom, caused by the death of Nelson Sherman, which occurred at his residence, Sunday, at 11 a.m. Although all knew he was ill with pneumonia his sickness was of such short duration, only four days, we hardly realized his danger until his death came. He was born about sixty years ago, son of James and Maria Sherman, of this place, and has passed his entire life on the same farm. He leaves a devoted wife and daughter, Floy Belle, and sister, Mrs. L. P. Waite, of this place, to mourn the loss of a loving husband, father and brother and the entire community feel they have lost a friend in the truest sense of the word. Words entirely fail to express the sympathy extended to the bereaved family in this, their hour of deepest affliction. He will be sadly missed in the church of which he was a member, in the Grange and at social gatherings, which he was always a great hand to attend and enjoy.
