- Newspaper Obituary - September 30, 2011 Syracuse Post Standard - James E. Comins, age 90, resident of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday at his home. James was born June 20, 1921, in Redfield, the son of Floyd and Grace Wilson Comins. He graduated in 1940 from Sandy Creek High School. Jim married his wife of 38 years, Barbara Mouck, on December 20, 1946, she died in 1984. Jim served with the Army Air Force during the D-Day Invasion, landing on Omaha Beach. He was also a six-year veteran of the National Guard. He was employed by the Oswego County Highway Department for 36 years, retiring in 1984 as a sign foreman. Jim was a retired member of the Ringgold Fire Department, serving 41 years, and he also served for six years with the Orwell Fire Department. He was also a member of the Robert Edwards Post #358 American Legion, Pulaski, and the Pulaski VFW Post #7289. Surviving: one daughter, Sandra (Tom) Langer of Pulaski; three grandchildren, Brian (Jodi) Langer of Baldwinsville, Rachael Langer of East Nassau, NY, and Tom Langer of Pulaski; and his companion, Mary LaCelle. Jim was predeceased by one son, Robert who passed away in 2005. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with Pastor James Horth officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell. Calling hours will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Ringgold Fire Department Memorial Garden, 12 Lake Street, Pulaski, NY.
