- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, June 9, 1988 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - John Holbrook Jr., Two Months, Dies ¬John M. Holbrook Jr., two-month-old son of John M. and Carol Smith Holbrook Sr., 7815 Canning Factory Road, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday at the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown. The cause of death was Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with Pastors Jeff Frederick and Lon Kerry officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. There are no calling hours. Surviving besides his parents are his paternal grandparents, John and Barbara Holbrook, Pulaski; maternal grandparents, Donald and Patricia Smith, Syracuse; paternal great-grandparents, Robert and Aleta Holbrook, Pulaski; a maternal great-grandfather, William Sweet, Pulaski; a maternal great-grandmother, Mary M. Smith, Syracuse. John M. Holbrook Jr. was born in Community Hospital, Hamilton, on April 14.
