- Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, February 18, 1992 Evening Telegram - Herkimer, New York - Area Obituaries - Mabel E. (Court) Young - FAIRFIELD - Mabel E. (Court) Young, 89, of Sherwood Acres Apt., Herkimer, and formerly of Fairfield, died Feb. 17, 1992, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica. Mrs. Young was born Aug. 29, 1902, in the town of Manheim, a daughter of the late Isaac and Margaret Hotaling Horr. She received her education at Little Falls schools, graduated from Utica Business School and was first married to Louis H. Court, on Oct. 25, 1930, she was married to Ralph S. Young, who predeceased her in 1968. Mrs Young was employed at Remington Rand for many years and more recently at the former Marine Midland Bank in Middleville, retiring from there. She was a member and past matron of Kuyahoora Chapter 145 OES, and a member of the Col. William Feeter Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Dolgeville, where she had served as treasurer for many years. Mrs. Young was also a member and past secretary of the West Canada Creek Grange and a member of the Herkimer County Pomona Grange. Survivors include two sons, Harold L. Court of Franklin, Mass., and Ronald J. Young of Tully; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Maxwell of Hurleyville; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Margaret Smith, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Middleville, officiating. Spring interment will take place in the Fairfield Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to MOVAC. Envelopes are availible at the funeral home. West Canada Creek Grange will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:30 and the Kuyahoora Chapter 145, OES, at 8 to conduct ritualistic services.
