Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, June 8, 1991 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Cora S. Carl, 90, Teacher For 45 Years, Dies - Cora S. Carl, 90, Tinker Tavern Corners, died Friday morning at Oswego Hospital. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m_ today at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Northern Oswego County Ambulance Corp. She is survived by a son, Bruce P., Pulaski, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Born January 15, 1901 in the town of Albion, daughter of Charles and Jennie Fulmer Sheiman, she graduated from Mexico High School in 1919 and from Oswego Normal School in 1920. She married Paul E. Carl on August 16, 1921. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. Mr. Carl died November 12, 1967. Mrs. Carl received her bachelor of science degree from Oswego State Teachers College in 1949 and her master's degree in education in 1953. She taught sixth grade in the Pulaski school district for 45 years, retiring in 1965. She was a 50-year member of the Fernwood Grange and the Pulaski Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 159, and a member of the New York State and Oswego County Retired Teachers associations and the Mexico Senior Citizens. She was also a tax consultant in the Mexico and Parish area with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
