Warren, 83, of County House Woods Road, died on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010 at the Living Center South in Geneva. Calling hours will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Emanuel Baptist Church, Penn Yan/ A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. John was born June 17, 1927, the son of Claude G. and Mary Jane Helbock Warren. He was a graduate of Pulaski Academy. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1945 to 1946 and in the Marine Corp. from 1951 to 1953. John was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Warren; three daughters, Sandy (Dave) Ford of Angelica, Julie Warren of Gorham and Jackie (Michael) Johnson of Tenn; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Michael Warren of N.C,; two sisters, Mrs. Minetta Colwell of N.C. and Mrs. Margaret McMorrow of Newfield. Arrangements were handled by the Weldon Funeral Home, Penn Yan.
