Newspaper Obituary - May 28, 1988 The Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Former Newark Valley resident Leon H. Westfall, 87, died May 6 in Sarasota, Florida. A native of Newark Valley, Mr. Westfall moved to Sarasota 20 years ago from Locust Valley, where he was the superintendent of schools. He was a graduate of Syracuse University and Columbia University Teachers College. Mr. Westfall was a member of the Ivy League Club and active with the Boys Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Evelyn Calkins, a former Pulaski resident; a daughter, Donna of Rochester; a brother, Hugh of Sarasota; and three grandchildren. Contributions may be made to Syracuse University.
