- Obituary for Ida Sudol
Ida Sudol of Broadway, Fonda passed Monday, November 16, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam after a brief illness.
She was born in Pulaski, NY on December 10, 1946 the daughter of the late Clare and Mary Mowers. She moved to Rome, NY where she was employed at W.T. Grant for several years. In 1970 she moved to Fonda, NY and worked at St. Cecilia’s R.C. Church for several years and Coleco as an Executive Secretary. Early on she was a member of the Fonda Fire Women's Auxiliary, and was very involved in the St. Cecilia's church and Flares Gymnastics. She was employed at Halo Sport and Optical for the last 25 years until the onset of her illness.
Ida is survived by her husband, James whom she married on August 14, 1965 her son, James Sudol Jr. of Rome, NY; Her sister Linda Durland of Peachtree City, GA; 9 grandchildren, Giovanna, Amelia, Jessica, Brandi, Matthew, Devin, Nicolas, Dominic and Brianna. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michele O’Brien in 2003.
Ida was a kind and loving person to all who knew her. She was very proud of her grandchildren, and often bragged about them to all who would listen. She will be fondly remembered for saying "Hello Darlin" to a friend or family member and baking her famous cookies every fall.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 1 o’clock at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti officiating. A calling hour will precede the funeral beginning at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
