    • Newspaper Obituary - Monday, May 6, 1963 Utica Daily Press - Sheriff's Wife Dies - Herkimer - Mrs. Mabel Malsan, wife of Herkimer County Sheriff Charles E. Malsan and matron of Herkimer County Jail, died Saturday in Herkimer Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Malsan was born in Utica, daughter of Fred and Sarah Fox Keeler and had lived in Fairfield for many years. She was married to Charles Malsan in 1930 in Little Falls. They had lived in East Herkimer for the past 17 years. Besides her husband, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. John (Florence) Herkel of East Herkimer, and Mrs. George (Edith) VanBuren of Van Nuys, Calif., and a brother, William Keeler, Town of Stark. A private funeral will be conducted tomorrow from the family home. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.
