      PYRITES - Ethel M. Colvin, 88, of 209 East Ave., East Syracuse, a native of Pyrites, died Wednesday at her home.

      The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Donald Easton officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar, in the spring.

      Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York or to the Eastern Area Volunteer Emergency Service.

      Surviving are her husband, Raymond B.; three sons, Raymond B. Jr., South Butler, Asa W., East Syracuse, and Robert L., Central Square; five daughters, Edith M. Gillespie, East Syracuse, Charlotte C. Alexander, Constantia, Jessie C. Gotham, Camden, Myrtis E. King, Onondaga Hill, and Nancy J. Waite, Parish; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

      A daugher, Althea C. Hall, died before her.

      Born May 7, 1904, in Pyrites, daughter of Asa and Jessie Hunnewell Ingerson, she attended Altmar district schools and graduated from Professor Dybert's Business School, Philadelphia.

      She married Raymond B. Colvin March 12, 1924, and lived in Altmar for many years before moving to East Syracuse in 1940.

      Mrs. Colvin was a legal secretary with several Syracuse law offices and was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church, Altmar, and the Altmar Grange.
