      Vincent A. Comstock, 73, of Nichols Rd., Williamstown, NY, passed away at Rome Memorial Hospital, Monday, February 4, 2008. He was born in the town of Amboy, a son of Alton and Mildred Trumble Comstock, on April 29, 1934, and was a lifelong resident of the Williamstown area. On October 3, 1955, he married the former Janice Pappa; she passed away January 9, 1980. On November 20, 1982, he married the former Helen Frazer in Camden, NY.

      Vince retired from the Operating Engineers Local #545, Syracuse, as a grader operator after 45 years. He served with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Hastings-Gorski American Legion Post #1128, Williamstown.

      Surviving besides his wife Helen are two daughters, Terry LaSalle, Taylorsville, SC, and Chriss Sackett, Parish; one son, Larry Comstock, Williamstown; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Gardner, Altmar; eight grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; two sisters, Betty DeSenza, Rome, Audrey Trumble, Mexico; a brother, Fred Comstock, Williamstown; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Virginia; three brothers, Lynn, Ronald and Howard; and a sister, Dawn.

      Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden, NY. Spring interment in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 109 Main Street.
