      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, March 30, 1898 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Margaret Eacker Mathewson died at her home in Pulaski, New York, February 24th, 1898. She was born at Fonda, Montgomery County, New York, November 19th, 1830, and lived there until her marriage. She became a deaf-mute in infancy and was educated at the New York Institution for Deaf-Mutes, during the principalship of the late Dr. H. P. Peet. While in school she made the acquaintance of her husband, Mr. Henry Mathewson. They were married September 29, 1858, at Fultonville, New York. After her marriage she went to Pulaski, New York, which place has since been her home. Mr. Mathewson died about ten years ago. Mrs. Mathewson has been in failing health for about two and a half years, and endured her sickness, which was very painful, with the greatest Christian fortitude. She was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church. She leaves two children, Mrs. W. H. Brown of Pulaski, New York, and Willis K. Mathewson, of Daysville, New York.
