Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 28, 1898 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Asleep in Jesus - As Christmas day was drawing to a close the spirit of Cora E. Trumbull took its flight and her body entered the sleep from which there is no earthly waking. On December 7, at the home of her father, Mr. E. E. Trumbull in Plattsburg, she was taken with an illness from which the never recovered. "I am not afraid to die, papa," were among her last words and these give positive assurance that her sleep in that "peaceful sleep," "safe in the arms of Jesus." Cora was born in Syracuse, fifteen years ago last April. Her mother died when she was but a few days old. She resided in this place for a short time before her father moved to Plattsburg. At the last of her sickness her suffering was severe because throat paralysis which affected her heart and sight. Mr. and Mrs. Trumbull accompanied the remains to this place last evening and the funeral will be held at the residence of Mr. S. R. Trumbull at 11 o'clock today.
