      Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, May 4, 1937 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Richland, May 4 - John Carey, a native of South Richland and a resident of Syracuse 20 years, died Sunday night in Crouse-Irving hospital, Syracuse, after a short illness. He was a railroad signal man. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Robert Brown of Closter, New Jersey, Mrs. Lyndon Williams and Mrs. Robert Spencer, both of Syracuse; a son, Clarence R. Carey of Port Byron; a sister, Mrs. George Gilchrist of Waterville; three brothers, Simon Carey of Hubbardsville, William and Edward Carey of Waterville, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the rooms of Burns and Gaynor, Syracuse funeral directors, with burial at Fernwood.
