- Newspaper Obituary - December 13, 1905 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Albion - Died, at his home Thursday morning, Dec. 10th, William Emmons, aged 73 years. Mr. Emmons had been in poor health for some time, having lung trouble but recently he had a severe cold which, with the lung trouble, caused his death. All that loving hands and tender hearts could do was done until death’s messenger called for him and peacefully and gently bore him away. He was born at Lorraine, Jefferson County, in 1832. In 1862 he enlisted and left his home and friends for his country. Twenty-five years ago he, with his family moved from Jeff. Co. to this place. A number of years ago he bought the Ely farm, where he has since resided. For the last few years, owing to his poor health, his son, Roy, has managed the farm. Mr. Emmons was a Christian man, a loving husband and father, and a kind neighbor. Butler Post, at Pulaski, of which the members attended in a body at the funeral. He leaves to mourn a devoted wife, two sons, one daughter, and a granddaughter, Bonnie of Hartford, Conn., Roy and Mrs. David Phillips, of this place, Hazel, a granddaughter, who has made her home with them for many years, he also leaves two brothers, Ward, of Adams, and Samuel of the Soldier’s Home in Bath, all of whom were here to attend the funeral which was largely attended at the house on Sunday at 1 p.m. Rev. Hall officiating, burial at Maple Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Estes and daughter, Jennie, of Henderson, were guests of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Emmons, last week and attended the funeral.
