    • Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 11, 1899 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Lafayette Maltby one of the early residents of this place, died in Northampton, Massachusetts, December 29. Mr. Maltby was born in Washingtonville (Sandy Creek) in 1819. He studied law in Utica, once lived in New Orleans where he was in business as an importer. He went to Northampton in 1857. Mr. Maltby was a prominent member of the community where he lived and recognized for his ability as a financier, an educated and Christian man. The Northampton Daily Herald publishes an extensive obituary the reproduction of which space will not permit.
