Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday Evening, August 11, 1908 Utica Herald Dispatch - Utica, New York - Simon Carey died at his home Saturday, aged 78 years. Mr. Carey had been a resident of this vicinity for several years, coming here with his family from Oswego County. Besides his wife he is survived by five children, Simeon of Stockwell, John of Fernwood, William of Buffalo, Edmund and Mrs. George Gilchrist of Sangerfield. The funeral will be held from his late home this morning and services will be conducted by the Rev. Church. Interment will be made at Fernwood, Oswego County. He was a well known veteran.
