    • Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 17, 1996 Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - Deceased Name: JANICE P. CRANDALL - Janice P. Crandall, 73, of North Street died Tuesday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home, Oswego. Mrs. Crandall was a life resident of Pulaski. She retired after 15 years with the offices of Dr. Hugh McChesney and also had been employed with Northern Oswego County Health Services and Ontario Iron Works. Mrs. Crandall was a graduate of Pulaski Academy High School. Mrs. Crandall was a member of Park United Methodist Church, Pulaski, and a former member of Elms Golf Club, Sandy Creek. She had been a Girl Scout leader for several years. Surviving are three daughters Jana Craig of Houston, Texas, Marge Orton of Pulaski and Donelle Sullivan of Eagle River, Alaska; two stepdaughters, Nancy Kates of Scottsville and Dianne Ingraham of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Verna Backus of Sandy Creek; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Park United Methodist Church, the Rev. Catherine Salisbury officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery.

      Newspaper Obituary - April 17, 1996 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - LACONA NATIVE JANICE P. CRANDALL, 73, DIES - Janice P. Crandall, 73, North Street, died Tuesday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home, Oswego. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Park United Methodist Church with the Rev. Catherine Salisbury officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Park United Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Jana Craig, Houston, Texas, Margo Orton, Pulaski, and Donelle Sullivan, Eagle River, Alaska; two stepdaughters, Nancy Kates, Scottsville, and Dianne Ingraham, Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Verna Backus, Sandy Creek; and six grandchildren. Born March 18, 1923, at Lacona, daughter of W. MacKenzie and Gaynalle Wart Petrie, she graduated from Pulaski Academy and Central School and Central City Business Institute, Syracuse. She married Edward William Orton on Dec. 7, 1946, in Pulaski Methodist Church with the Rev. James N. Pauley, then pastor, officiating. Mr. Orton was killed in an automobile accident July 4, 1957, near Norwood. Mrs. Crandall retired after 15 years with the offices of Dr. Hugh McChesney and also had been employed by Northern Oswego County Health Services and Ontario Iron Works. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church and a former member of Elms Golf Club, Sandy Creek. She had been a Girl Scout leader for several years.
