- Newspaper Obituary - Monday, March 24, 1941 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski, March 3 - Charles C. Hutchins, 66, died early Sunday morning at his home at Maple Corners, town of Richland, near the Tinker Tavern road. Death came suddenly after an early morning heart attack. Mr. Hutchins, cook on New York Central Railroad work trains for the past 17 years, had laid off two weeks ago because of poor health, but had improved greatly and his condition was not considered serious. He was a lifelong resident of the town of Richland, having been born May 20, 1874, on the farm where he died. He was the son of Ward R. and Jeannette Burdick Hutchins. He was a member of the Railroad Brotherhood, the South Richland Grange of Fernwood, and the Carthage Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Orion Hutchins; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Chandler, Oshkosh, Wisconsin; one son, Ward Hutchins of Greenpoint, Long Island, and one brother, Melvin Hutchins of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held at his late home Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock and at the Fernwood Baptist church at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Willis cemetery, Fernwood.
