    • Agnes M. Slater, 99, formerly of Central Square, NY, went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2015. She was born on March 19, 1916 in Sandy Creek, NY, the daughter of Gilbert and Frances (Weston) Stafford. Agnes was united in marriage to Avery E. Slater on July 4, 1932. She was a member of the Central Square Community Church, M.I.A. Senior Group, and the Choraliers. Agnes was predeceased in 1998 by her husband of 66 years, Avery; two sisters, Fannie White and Pauline Brandt; daughter and son-in-law, Marlea (Gerald) Stannard; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Slater; and two grandsons, James Kingsley and Steven Kingsley. She is survived by one son, Neil Slater (Della Lastooka) of Ocala, FL; six grandchildren, Jeff Kingsley (Patricia) of East Syracuse, NY, Peggy Cerone of Baldwinsville, NY,/Mike Cerone, Sr. of Brewerton, NY, Debra Smith (Clark) of Bedford, VA, Terri Marsh (Roger) of Tucson, AZ, Denise Wallon of Oswego, NY, Sherri Holland (Harold) of Cato, NY; granddaughter-in-law, Megan Kingsley of North Carolina; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; Vern Slater (Jenny) of Liverpool, NY; and countless wonderful friends. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to the members of Central Square Community Church for their time of fellowship, member dedication and prayers for Agnes as well as her friends that visited her and brought joy and love to her life. The family of Agnes also extends their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff of Morningstar Nursing Home, Oswego, NY, who gave Agnes such wonderful care during her residency. A Celebration of Agnes' Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Watson Funeral Home, 631 South Main Street, Central Square, NY.
