Newspaper Article - Thursday Evening, August 11, 1927 Syracuse Herald - Syracuse, New York - 'Heir' Ordered To Return $250 in Gold - Court Directs E. S. Bundy to Produce $104 in Currency, Too - An order directing Edward S. Bundy of Hamburg to appear in Surrogate's Court on May 26 and produce $250 in gold and $104 in currency left by Charles Anson, who died suddenly on April 13, has been granted by Surrogate John W. Sadler on motion of counsel for Fred Anson, administrator of the estate for his father. Bundy, the husband of a granddaughter of Anson took the money which he said was given to him by a note left by Anson. A note was left with the money which read: "Ted, this is for yours." Anson came to Syracuse on April 10 and took a room in a rooming house at 617 East Fayette Street. Three days later he was taken sick and died suddenly. He left no will which directed the distribution of the money he left. The son, a Syracuse chauffeur, was appointed administrator of the estate and he served upon Bundy a demand for the money and a gold watch and chain which was refused. McKay and Gosselin, counsel for the son, charges the note is not binding and says the money should become a part of the estate. The petition for letters of administration states the son and two grandchildren, Nathan Manwaring of Avon and Mrs. Ethel Manwaring Bundy of Hamburg are the heirs.
