    • Emery H. Mere, 69, of 2 Pratt Place, died suddenly Thursday night, December 5, 1968, at his home at 7:05 o'clock.

      He had suffered from a heart condition for some time and had visited his family physician Thursday afternoon.

      Surviving are his wife; two sons, John M. Mere and Armand Mere, both of Massena; three daughters, Mrs. Ramie (Alice) Brodeur and Mrs. Maurice (Margaret) Brodeur, bboth of Richland, and Mrs. Arlington (Yvette) Ploof, Chase Mills; 18 grandchildren; Wilfred Mere, Massena and Oscar Mere, Syracuse; three sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Josephine) Debien, Cape Vincent, Mrs. Claude (Mona) Carey and Mrs. Rose LaBrosse, both of Hopkinton.

      Mr. Mere was born in Huntingdon, Quebec, December 12, 1898, a son of Joseph and Justine Bone Mere. He attended schools in Raymondville and he worked at Massena Operations, Alcoa 40 years. He retired in 1962.

      He married Miss Cecilia LaDuc, Huntingdon, August 6, 1923.

      He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of Alcoa 25-Year Club.
