MALONE - Hazel Russell, 72, of 232 East Main Street, Malone, died Monday evening, Feb. 19, 1990, at the Alice Hyde Hospital where she had been a patient since Dec. 18, 1989.
She was born in Malone, the daughter of Phillip and Alice (Bigness) Lamica. She attended local schools. She married John F. Russell on May 7, 1933, in Malone. He died July 7, 1966. Many years ago, Mrs. Russell worked for the Malone Potato Chip Factory and also the Malone Cheese Plant. She later worked as a housekeeper for attorney Joseph Poissant for more than 15 years. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed fishing.
Mrs. Russell is survived by three sons, Richard F. Russell of Malone, Roderick J. Russell of the Bronx and Wayne J. Russell of South Bridge, Mass.; three .daughters, Mrs Francis (Jane) Raville of Mountain View, Mrs. Laraine Mulverhill of Malone and Mrs. Lynda Baker of Malone; a sister, Mrs. Peter (Ethel) Recore of Malone; 23 grandchiidren, 22 great-grand children and several nieces nephews. A daughter, Judy Marie Russell, died in infancy. Two brothers. Herbert and Harold Lamica, and two sisters, Mrs. Leona Reome and Miss Theresa Lamica, died before her. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso~Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, with burial in St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone in the spring.
Memorial donations may be to the Heart Fund, the Lung Association or the Owls Head Mountain View Volunteer Fire Department.
