[Note: Loring Godfrey died August 4, 1960 in Utica, New York and is buried in West Schuyler Cemetery in Herkimer County, New York.]

      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 16, 1969 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Services for Cecile McElver - Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 14 at the Foster Funeral Home for Mrs. Cecile R. McElver, 73, of Richland, who died suddenly early Saturday, January 11 at her home. The Rev. Gene Kearns, pastor of the Richland Church of Christ, officiated. Spring burial will be in the Richland Cemetery. She was born November 19, 1895 at Richland, the daughter of Frank and Persis Sprague Rowland. She attended Oswego High School and the Utica Conservatory of Music, and was married in 1919 to Loring P. Godfrey. She became the wife of Clarence McElver in 1925. He died September 16, 1958. Mrs. McElver resided in Three Rivers and Phoenix for many years, and was employed by E. W. Edwards and the Phoenix A & P Store, retiring in 1955. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Richland, and was active in community affairs. She played the organ for many public functions. Surviving are two sons, Loring P. Godfrey of Belleville and Robert R. McElver of Parish; five grandchildren; two nephews, and several cousins.
