He was predeceased by his parents Paul (Cleo) Abbott, his twin brother and golfing partner Harlow Abbott, his sister Gladys Bailey Armentrout and brother Leo Abbott. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Rita Abbott; 2 daughters, Janice (Larry Wilkes) Waters, Joyce (Michael) Howell; 1 son, James (Anne) Abbott; 8 grandchildren, Chris, Jennifer, Jason, Steven, Kristin, Jody, Karen, Daniel; 7 great grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Amy, Jack, Mattie, Zachary, Leah; 1 sister, Pauline Trask; 1 brother, Eldon Abbott many nieces, nephews, cousins and faithful canine companion Lucy. Harold was a retired I.B.M. employee after 33 years of service, a Mason for over 70 years, member of the Center Lisle Congregational Church, drove for Avis for 13 years, was a member of the Ford Hill Golf Country Club and played in many golf leagues. The family will receive friends Friday April 28, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Sunset Memorial Services 2659 main St. Whitney Point, NY and Saturday from 10 am until service time at 11 am at Center Lisle Congregational Church 9670 Rte. 79 Lisle, NY. A Masonic service will be held at 7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Center Lisle Congregational Church 9670 Route 79 Lisle, NY 13797.
