Dorothy A. Gayne, 83, Dunedin, Fla., formerly of Watertown and Dexter, died Monday in Mease Dunedin Hospital.
Mrs. Gayne was a homemaker.
Born Jan. 23, 1918, in Watertown, daughter of Everett and Alice Wilcox Snyder, she attended Watertown High School.
She married Vernon B. Gayne on June 24, 1939, at the Church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Watertown, with the Rev. James Quinn officiating. Mr. Gayne retired as general foreman in the machine shop at New York Air Brake Co., Watertown, in 1981.
Mrs. Gayne attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Vernon B. Gayne Jr., Largo, Fla., John E. Gayne, Safety Harbor, Fla., and Bruce F. and Michael E. Gayne, both of Adams; a daughter, Renee L. May, Webster, 17 grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
A daughter, Diane A. Smithers, died in 1976.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The body was cremated.
Arrangements are with Moss- Feaster Funeral Home, Dunedin Chapel.
