    • Phyllis McNitt, 81 a longtime resident of Lacona, passed away Sunday evening November 26, 2017 at Morningstar Care Center in Oswego.

      Phyllis was born June 27, 1936 in Lowville the youngest of thirteen siblings, to Albert and Harriet (Burer) Burr. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1954. Phyllis married Rex McNitt in June of 1964, he died in 2002. She was a tax preparer for many years and also had worked at Lincoln Bank. She served on the BOCES board for many years and was a member of the Helping Hands Club.

      Surviving are her children Doug (Linda), Dale (Shirley), Dean and his companion Kim Buck, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and friends.

      The Funeral Service will be Friday December 1st at 11 am at Summerville Funeral Home. Calling Hours will be Thursday November 30th from 5-8pm. Donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org
