    • Newspaper Obituary - June 29, 1910 The Pulaski Democrat - Mrs. Caroline Cozzens - The Angel of Death has once more visited our town and borne away a loved one from a sorrowing home. For the last twelve years, Mrs. Caroline Cozzens has lived in our midst with her daughter, Mrs. D. H. Stewart. Owing to her blindness and failing health she has been on of the "shut in" ones, but she has been a patient, cheerful one, striving to do what she could to lighten the burdens of others. We little realize what it means to one who has always been busy with eyes and hands to be obliged to sit in darkeness with thos same hands resless and eager to do for others. When we think of this and the intense suffering she endured, can we wonderthat she was so anxious to be taken where there is no darkness and where there is no pain? She had treasures in Heaven and her heart was there. More to her than even the loved ones she had lost was her Savior and His was the face she wished first to see when she passed through the pearly gates into the New Jerusalem." All that loving hands could do was done for her and the tired body was laid to rest, Sunday afternoon, surrounded by flower. No song could have been more fitting than the one sang by Mr. Seamans, "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" for He is an ever present help in time of trouble. Rev. Joseph Sorena of Christ's church , Syracuse, spoke words of cheer and comfort to all. Mrs. Cozzen's former home was in Elyria, O. and in that place as well as in Richland, she leaves a wide circle of friends; but she will be missed most in the homes of the son and daughter, Mr. L. S. Cozzens and Mrs. D. H. Stewart, of Richland. As Mr. Serens said, "Our lives are our messages," and her life has certaintly left to her children and friends messages of love and patience, faith in God, and charity for others. "Oh the beautiful face at eternity's gate, How it gleams like a star thro' the night; The sweet face of my mother, and there she will wait, Till I enter the city of light."
