Our Community lost a good neighbor and a dear friend with the passing of Gerald Orton, 65, who had been a resident of East Greene most of his life. He and his wife, Helen, since their marriage had been residents of Lowville. Gerald lived high atop a here in East Greene as long as I can remember with his brother, Lent, tilled the soil from sun-up to sun-down; a harder working man you'll never find. Lent will continue to operate the farm only on a smaller scale. Gerald's wife, Helen. survives and they had been married four years on the 11th of October. Also surviving are his daughter, Noreen Stein, of Columbia, Mo., and his grandson, Sean O'Donovan; two brothers, Lent & Willard, of Venango Twp., (Church Bulleton)
