      Garret M. "Gavin" Van Ness age 35, formerly of Pulaski, NY, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 2, 2016 at his home in Ocala, FL. Garret resided in Pulaski from 1986 until 2002 when he moved to Florida. He also resided in Hickory, NC and Jacksonville, FL. Garret was born September 29, 1980 in
      Saranac Lake, NY. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1999 and he attended Canton and Potsdam Colleges. He was a member of the Zeta Alpha Phi Fraternity in Canton. Garret was employed by AT&T as a Senior Project Program Manager for the past six years. He formerly attended the Pulaski Wesleyan Church. Garret was a gifted musician, an avid golfer, and he was a fan of the NY Yankees and Syracuse Basketball.
      Surviving are his beloved daughter Kaylynn T. Van Ness of Gainesville, FL and his fiancée Carly Cook of Ocala, FL. His parents Janice Milton Van Ness of Pulaski and Mark Van Ness of Watertown, one brother, Shawn (Andrea) Van Ness of North Syracuse, one sister, Julia Van Ness of Syracuse, one niece Adelyn Rivers of Syracuse, maternal grandparents, William and Barbara Milton of Watertown, paternal grandfather, Earl W. Van Ness of Watertown, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
      Funeral Services will be held 5 p.m., Friday, July 8, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with burial at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, prior to the funeral.
